What are the challenges of academic teaching in the contemporary world? What social, economic, scientific, and technological aspects play a part in the university classroom today? That is, which factors have been provoking effects/changes in our daily academic teaching practice? More importantly, how has such practice affected society for development? The Federal University of Uberlândia invites professors and academic researchers for the First International Forum on Academic Teaching: Social Inclusion; Information and Communication Technology. The event aims at providing a space for interdisciplinary discussion and theoretical development on academic teaching and for the exchange of classroom experiences. This first edition focuses on two particular subthemes (but is not limited to them) regarding both their specific traits and the possible relationships between them: (1) social inclusion in the university, and (2) the utilization of information and communication technology in the university classroom.
