As a part of the EU-funded project VISTOP the Anti-Bullying-Centre of the Trinity College, Dublin (Ireland) in cooperation with the Centre for Educational Research of the University of Koblenz-Landau (Germany) offer the online course “Coping with School Violence and Bullying: A Course for Parents”. The course looks at different aspects of bullying in the school and aims to provide the participating parents with an understanding of the definition and context of school violence. It equips the parents with an understanding of the processes involved when embedding the whole school approach to violence in the school. Furthermore, the course outlines restorative approaches to bullying in schools and highlights the benefits of peer mediation in the school. The six-weeks-course will be held from October 6th to November 14th, 2008. Participation at the online course is free of charge and limited to a group of up to 20 participants from throughout Europe on a first-come, first-serve basis. The expected time involvement for participants will be around 24-30 hours. Participants will be awarded a certificate on completion of the course.
