The simulation: In all 50 students will be admitted to the project. Once groups are admitted to the program, the students are divided and mixed with students from other universities and nationalities. By that we hope to foster for more intercultural dialogue among the participating students. The case, on which the simulation will be based, will be fictional and submitted to the participants right after their admission along with their team partners contact details. The teams will be assigned issues and roles (judges, defence, prosecution) and be asked to prepare and submit prelim papers with their pleadings/judgements. Each team member will have a total of about 15 minutes to argue their case. The Trainings: During the trainings the students get the chance to prepare their pleadings and train their presentations with professional trainers, that will help them to prepare for their performance in the simulation. The trainings will include legal reasoning, the writing and preparation of the final pleadings as well as hints and exercises in the field of rhetoric and presentation. Extra Activities: But that of course is not all. We will of course offer side activities so all participants get the chance to get to know Krzyzowa and the estates history but also each other a little better. In addition during the projects professionals from the field of international criminal law, human rights and humanitarian law will be invited to discuss current issues and give insight into their experiences and everyday work. Application: MICC is open to all university students with either law or journalistic background. Each participating university can send a group of four students to the event, whose preparation is to be coordinated by a professor at their home university. Apart from that you can register for the press training or for the judge role individually. More:
