Der Beitrag fokussiert die Transformation der Idee des Fortschritts in jene der Innovation. "Erneuerung" scheint mit dem Anspruch auf Verbesserung und Steigerung konstitutiv verbunden zu sein. Die Kraft der Innovationsrhetorik zeigt sich im Bereich der Bildung daran, dass Erneuerungsimperativen auch dann gefolgt wird, wenn die implizit oder explizit erhobenen Ansprüche auf qualitative Steigerung und/oder (quantitative) Weiterführung ungeprüft bleiben. Daher müssen sich Innovationsbestrebungen kaum noch rechtfertigen, dafür umso mehr die Beibehaltung des Status quo. Diese Tendenz wird - rhetorisch zugespitzt - als "neomanisch" bezeichnet. The article focuses on the transformation of the concept of progress into that of innovation. "Renewal" seems to be constitutively linked with the claim to improvement and growth. In the field of education, the power of innovation rhetoric reveals itself in that imperatives of renewal are being followed even if the implicitly or explicitly raised claims to qualitative growth and/or (quantitative) development remain unaudited. Thus, efforts at innovation hardly need to be justified anymore, quite unlike efforts at maintaining the status quo. This trend is - in a rhetorically pointed manner - described as "neomanic".
