Founded in 1961, WAER is less well known than WERA (World Education Research Association), which has a similar focus. Nevertheless, its second last congress in 2012 was well frequented, counting about 580 participants from 40 countries; the last congress in 2016 had more than 350 accepted papers. The driving force behind WAER mainly comes from francophone countries, especially France. Therefore, the French version of the website may be slightly more up to date than the English or the Spanish one, especially in the publications' section. Besides information on WAER, news, events and publications, you can also find information on WAER's two Special Interest Groups: "Learning Alliances" and "Evaluation in the field of Education / Formation".
