The Cape Town Open Education Declaration

The Cape Town Open Education Declaration was based on a meeting of international, leading personalities in the field of Open Education. The meeting was organised by the Open Society Institute and the Shuttleworth Foundation in 2007 in Cape Town. The declaration calls upon actors in politics, education, publishing, research and others to engage in the promotion of freely accessible educational ressources on the Internet. More than 2.000 individuals and more than 200 organisations worldwide have signed the declaration so far. [Source: Editors of Education Worldwide]
