"In this paper, we analyze the status of Latin American indigenous communities and factors affecting their social inclusion. We begin with an assessment of the size of the indigenous population in each country; we emphasize its rich diversity, and we look at dependency rates and aging. In the second section, we focus on the incidence of poverty, and in the third section, we consider the status of indigenous girls and women. In the fourth section, we consider the health and education dimension, and finally, in the fifth section, we address property rights, climate change, and self-governance. Conclusions are presented at the end." [Abstract: Author’s information]
