The UNESCO High Level Group of Visionaries on Knowledge Acquisition and Sharing met in Kronberg, Germany, on 22 and 23 June 2007 to discuss the future of Knowledge Acquisition and Sharing over the next twenty-five years. The outcome was the ‘Kronberg Declaration on the Future of Knowledge Acquisition and Sharing’ which summarizes the significance of knowledge in the modern world, the major strategic areas which should be addressed to shape the political and structural changes that are needed to improve knowledge acquisition and sharing, the anticipated future developments, consequential steps that should be taken and a recommended course of action.
