Longitudinal Studies for Education Reports: European and North American Examples
The document presents longitudinal studies on educational pathways of children and young people as they have been conducted in selected countries in North America and Europe (Canada, United States of America, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany). The focus lies on the use of these studies for educational reports (thus providing the basis for policy-making decisions). While this type of empirical research is fairly new to educational science in Germany, it has a longer tradition in other countries.
