International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA)

The IEA is an international cooperative of national research institutions and governmental research agencies from almost 70 countries worldwide. Since it was founded in 1958, the IEA has carried out more than 30 international large-scale comparative studies of educational achievement. Some prominent examples are the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study, TIMSS, or the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study, PIRLS. IEA's website provides detailed information on the studies, on the research data underlying the studies, on publications as well as on the bi-annual IEA conference.
