The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) was established in November 1965 as a chartered international organization whose purpose is to promote cooperation in education, science and culture in the Southeast Asian region. This website provides information on activities of the SEAMEO Secretariat (SEAMES) which administers a variety of programmes on behalf of the 11 SEAMEO Member Countries and the SEAMEO Network. There are 21 specialised SEAMEO Centres that undertake training and research in various fields of education. SEAMEO also provides a lot of publications on its website. Furthermore, the website provides an overview of the education system of each country, including links to the respective ministries for education.
